Pat is Senior Counsel at Veritas Communications advising on media training, crisis management and public and investor relations. Pat recently left his hosting duties at BNN; the leading source of business television programming in Canada. Pat is a Queen’s University graduate with a BPHE/BA(Mathematics). Pat worked his way up in the investment industry from floor clerk on the Toronto Stock Exchange to Vice President of Equity Trading with a firm in the top tier of the industry in Canada. Pat then moved into broadcasting and became a leading business figure in Canada on TV and radio and included a stint at CNBC in the USA before returning to his roots in Canada.
| Rod Burylo
For 25 years, Rod Burylo has worked throughout financial services industry for various organizations, including Royal Bank, Investors Group, and number of specialized investment and planning organizations. He has earned various designations, including CFP, and is the recipient of the prestigious Advisor of the Year Award. In more recent years, Rod has worked exclusively with alternative investment strategies and a focus on real estate related investments, helping to build leading companies within the sector.
Throughout his career, Rod has contributed enthusiastically to the public education and professional development as writer and teacher. He has authored three books and dozens of published articles, and has provided lectures and keynote presentations throughout North America.

James Dungate is responsible for the development of Fiera Capital’s business with financial advisors in Western Canada.
Mr. Dungate has more than 15 years of diversified experience in the investment management industry.
Mr. Dungate graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in International Relations.
| Andrew Ellott
Andrew Ellott joined FrontFour full time in 2011 as Head of Marketing and Business Development. Prior to that he had been closely involved with FrontFour for a number of years through his prior firm, Weston Capital, a Connecticut based asset management company with over $1 billion in AUM. Weston had seeded FrontFour with $30m back in 2007. Andrew was with Weston Capital between 2002 and 2011 responsible for marketing the firm’s platform of hedge funds including over ten hedge funds that Weston had seeded between 2004 and 2007. Andrew began his career in London, England in 1987 working for Chase Manhattan Bank on both the equity trading desk as well as in the economics and research groups, before moving into the banks Foreign Exchange and Capital Markets division. In 1991 he was hired by Swiss Bank Corporation as a VP of their FX Institutional sales desk, marketing FX cash and options to the banks top institutional clients. In 1995, he was hired by NationsBank as part of their major push to become a leading player in the FX and Options markets globally. In the late 1990’s Andrew moved to Vancouver, Canada where he is based today. Andrew was educated in the UK, and attended the City University Business School (CASS) in London graduating in 1987 with a BSc (Honors) in Banking and International Finance. Andrew is Series 7 and Series 64 registered in the US.
| Peter Hayes
Peter is the National Director of KPMG’s Canadian Alternative Investments practice. He has more than 12 years of professional experience serving Canadian, US and international private investment funds, reporting issuer mutual funds and asset managers, and their service providers. Peter re-joined KPMG after spending several years developing and managing alternative investment products with Citigroup Alternative Investments in New York. He was previously an audit manager in the Alternative Investments practice of KPMG in the Cayman Islands. Peter started his career with KPMG in Vancouver serving clients in a variety of industries. Peter is a member of the Legal & Finance Committee of the Alternative Investment Management Association (Canada Chapter) and the Treasurer of the Canadian Securities Lending Association.

Kyle began his investment career over twelve years ago specializing in mutual funds. Learning the investment ropes early, he developed a professional framework for success. In building his own exempt market investment business, Kyle never wavers from this framework which is founded on four principles:

2) You have to have a genuine desire to help people to be successful

Kyle is married with two children and accredits his wife with the hardest job in the world: raising their children. He also has a passion for mountain biking in the summer and snowboarding in the winter.

| Warren Jestin
Dr. Jestin is Scotiabank’s Chief Economist and has been with the Bank since 1979. He also has worked at the Bank of Canada and taught at several Canadian universities. Warren is on advisory boards for the College of Management and Economics at the University of Guelph and the Sobey School of Business at St. Mary’s University. He has served on the C.D. Howe Institute’s Monetary Policy Council and has been involved with policy committees of the Canadian and Ontario Chambers of Commerce and the Toronto Board of Trade. As Chair of Scotiabank’s Sponsorship and Donations Committee, Warren works closely with a wide variety of charitable institutions.

Christopher is a Partner with the Axcess Capital Group of Companies based in Calgary, Alberta.
Christopher co-founded a private mortgage syndication brokerage, Infuse Capital, created in 2005 in Alberta. In 2011, Infuse Capital created a strategic partnership with the Axcess Capital Group of Companies in response to new securities legislation where Christopher now is a Partner and Director. Christopher is a licensed mortgage associate and formerly a commercial real estate associate in Alberta.
Christopher currently is a Director and Partner in five Mortgage Investment Funds.
Christopher is a licensed exempt market registrant in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario and a member of the Exempt Market Dealer’s Association, and is currently registered as a CFA Candidate.
| Stephanie McManus
Stephanie McManus was called to the Ontario Bar in 1987 and to the Alberta Bar in 2000. She has worked in private practice as a civil litigator and as Enforcement Counsel for the Investment Dealers Association of Canada. She was the first Director of Enforcement for the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada and has worked as counsel in-house for two multi-service financial services companies. She was the 2007 Chair of the Association of Canadian Compliance Professionals and a member of the Small Business Advisory Committee of the Ontario Securities Commission from 2007 to 2009. She has also written and spoken at various venues and conferences on topics of interest to the securities industry.
| Miklos Nagy
Mr. Miklos Nagy is Director, President, CEO and Portfolio Manager of Quadrexx Asset Management. Mr. Nagy is also Chairman and co-founder of Canadian Hedge Watch Inc., a Toronto based publishing and educational firm focusing on the Canadian hedge fund industry. He is a leading authority on alternative investments and hedge funds in Canada. Miklos is the co-author of Canada’s first hedge fund book; “Hedge Funds for Canadians”, published by John Wiley and Sons in May 2003 (second edition published in July, 2005). He has been featured repeatedly on national television and newspapers about hedge funds. Miklos has also been invited as a speaker to numerous financial seminars and conferences for several organizations. He also co-authored the Chartered Alternative Investment Planner Program (CHAIP), a certification course offered by the Radius Financial Education, a division of Canadian Hedge Watch Inc.
Mr. Nagy is the lead researcher in fund of hedge funds and index related work at Quadrexx. Under his supervision, Quadrexx started the research project in 2005 which lead to the refinement of “Index Plus” methodology employed in managing the Partnership.
Mr. Nagy has over 25 years of financial industry experience in Canada including as Senior Partner at a leading financial planning firm and Credit Analyst at Credit Suisse Canada in Toronto. Miklos studied Math and Computer Science in Hungary, graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons.) degree from the University of Toronto in Economics and Statistics and holds the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and CFP (Certified Financial Planner) professional designations. He is the Past Chair of CIFPs (Canadian Institute of Financial Planners Association), member of the Exempt Market Dealers Association of Canada, a member of the CFA Institute, the Toronto CFA Society, and a founding member of the CFA Society of Hungary, Budapest.
| Tim Pickering
Tim Pickering, Founder and President of Auspice Capital Advisors (Auspice), is the lead portfolio manager and CIO with over 15 years of commodity and financial trading experience. Prior to forming Auspice, Tim was Vice President of Options Trading at Shell Trading Gas and Power in the Houston and Calgary offices. Tim began his career at TD Securities in Toronto in their elite trading development program. He gained experience in a wide expanse of capital market products including foreign exchange, bonds, money markets and derivatives. Ultimately, Tim held the Senior Trader position for the energy derivatives portfolio. Tim has extensive experience trading OTC and exchange traded options, futures, swaps and quantitative trend following systems.
With partner Ken Corner, Tim has built Auspice Capital Advisors as a next generation CTA, offering strategies in active managed futures, passive ETFs, enhanced indices and custom commodity strategies. Most recently, Auspice launched the Auspice Broad Commodity Index and the Auspice Managed Futures Index (NYSE published) that support two new Claymore ETFs on the TSX. Additionally, Auspice launched the Auspice Energy Program, a multi-strategy, multi-time period quantitative approach to investing in the global energy futures markets.

| Chris Theal
Mr. Theal founded Kootenay Capital Management Corp. in the fall of 2010 to manage the Kootenay Global Energy Absolute Return Fund, which launched in July 2011. Prior to founding Kootenay, Mr. Theal was a top-ranked oil and gas analyst for thirteen years. He most recently led the global oil & gas team as Global Coordinator, Oil & Gas Research, at Macquarie Securities. Mr. Theal was a founding Capital Markets partner, Head of Energy Research and member of the Executive Committee at Tristone Capital – a global energy investment boutique – prior to Macquarie acquiring Tristone in 2009. Prior thereto, Mr. Theal was an oil and gas analyst at CIBC World Markets. Mr. Theal is a CFA Charterholder and holds the CIM designation. He has a MBA in Finance, from the University of British Columbia, an undergraduate degree in economics, with distinction, from Royal Roads Military College and received the Sword of Honour as the top all-round graduate in the class of 1992. He was an officer in the Canadian Navy and was awarded the United Nations Peacekeeping Services medal for UN service abroad. The company name “Kootenay” is derived from HMCS Kootenay – a river class destroyer on which Mr. Theal served all of his operational sea time prior to entering the energy industry in 1997.
