Jeff Anderson, Managing Director, Barclays
Jeffrey Anderson is a Managing Director and Co-Head of the Institutional team for EFS Sales, Americas at Barclays. Based in New York, Mr. Anderson is responsible for managing a team that focuses on North American public and corporate pensions, consultants, endowments and foundations within the public and private markets investable space across multiple asset classes.
Mr. Anderson joined Barclays in 2005 from Merrill Lynch where he worked in a similar capacity. Prior to that, he was at Fidelity Investments where he was a Trader on the Investment Grade Trading desk.
Mr. Anderson received an MBA from Columbia's Graduate School of Business and received a BA from Skidmore College.

Jeff Baryshnik, President, Republic Funds
Jeff Baryshnik HBA MBA CIM FCSI is the President of Republic Funds, an activist real estate investment firm that acquires and improves apartment and office buildings across the United States. Prior to forming Republic Funds in 2009, Mr Baryshnik worked at leading global investment funds including Citadel, at which he initiated its Canadian Value & Special Situations portfolio, which grew to more than $800 million. He began his career in Morgan Stanley’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group, and has participated in more than $15 billion of acquisitions.
Outside of Republic Funds, Jeff Baryshnik is a Trustee of True North Commercial REIT. He is also a Director on the Huron College Alumni Board at Western University and a member of the Mount Sinai (Toronto) Hospital Board of Governors. He is a past co-chair of the UJA Young Bay Street division.
Jeff Baryshnik is the author of an investment book that was published in 1999 and 2001 by Random House, and he placed first in the national TD Waterhouse Investment Challenge in 1996 and 1997. A value investor with an appreciation for financial history, Mr Baryshnik in a 1997 newspaper article presciently compared the stock market to the Tulip Bubble, forecasting a major crash. In early 2008, he correctly predicted in an NYU Economics report that the stock market decline was in its infancy.
Jeff Baryshnik received an MBA (Stern Scholar) from New York University’s Stern School of Business and an HBA (Ivey Scholar) from the Ivey School of Business at Western University; he is a recipient of the Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation’s premier Loran Award. Mr Baryshnik lives in Toronto with his wife and son.

Greg Bay, Co-Founder & President, Cypress Capital Management Ltd.
Founded in 1998 in Vancouver, Cypress Capital Management Ltd. (Cypress) is a boutique money manager made up of an eight-member team of investment professionals managing over $3 billion in assets for institutional and private clients.
Mr. Bay, a co-founder of Cypress has over 27 years experience investing in the resource sector. He has a particularly strong capability in energy resource investing and manages several funds including the Terra Flow-Through Limited Partnerships. Pat Bolland, Media Consultant
Longtime business commentator Pat Bolland has been a business thought leader north and south of the border. Pat worked his way up in the investment industry from floor clerk on the Toronto Stock Exchange to VP with a top tier firm before moving into broadcasting. Pat’s been business editor at four major networks, currently Sun New Network on ‘AM Agenda’. He has parlayed his TV hosting skills into media training, corporate PR as well as hosting, moderating and webcasting for events and conferences. Not to mention a lot of lacrosse coaching. Devon Cranson, Founder & President, Cranson Capital
Devon Cranson is the founder and president of Cranson Capital, a boutique investment banking firm established in 2006. Devon has extensive expertise and experience in all aspects of commercial financing, M&A and capital raising. Vipool Desai, President, Ara Compliance Support
Vipool is President of Ara Compliance Support, which he co-founded in 2006. Since then, he has been providing ongoing compliance and registration support for independent dealers and portfolio managers. Vipool and his team of compliance professionals effectively serve as a compliance department for independent firms. The Ara team provides ongoing compliance support that is both comprehensive and integrated, through the application of proprietary processes.
Vipool earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto, and holds the designations Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst. He became a part of the industry in 1993 as a Compliance Officer for IIROC, and has subsequently held a variety of senior roles in the industry including running the Canadian compliance operations of an International Investment Bank. Rich Donovan, CEO, The Return on Disability Group
Rich Donovan is Founder/CEO of The Return on Disability Group and is a globally recognized subject matter expert on the convergence of disability and corporate profitability. He has spent more than 10 years focused on defining and unlocking the economic value of the disability market for large companies and governments globally. Rich holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BBA from Schulich School of Business at York University. Rich is an avid sailor and proud father of his son, Maverick, along with his wife, Jenn. He also happens to have cerebral palsy.

Travis Dowle, President & Fund Manager, Maxam Capital Management Ltd.
Travis Dowle is the President and Fund Manager of Maxam Capital Management Ltd. and has overall investment management responsibility for the Maxam Diversified Strategies Fund. He began his career in 1996 with MK Wong & Associates, which was later acquired by HSBC Asset Management. After leaving HSBC in 2007, Mr. Dowle worked at Gibralt and Second City Capital, Vancouver-based private investment groups where he founded Maxam Capital Management. Mr. Dowle is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a past guest instructor for Stalla’s CFA exam preparation course.

Reid Duthie, Vice President, Capital Operations, KV Capital
Reid Duthie is Vice President, Capital Operations for KV Capital based in Edmonton, Alberta. KV Capital manages the KV Mortgage Fund (MIC) along with direct syndicated investments totaling over $100MM.
Reid obtained BCOMM from UBC Commerce majoring in Real Estate. He completed his CA working for BDO Canada LLP, a national audit firm and obtained his CFA charter in 2011. Reid has previously worked for Brookfield, ENMAX and a Private Equity firm in Calgary.

Mehran Ehsan, President & CEO, N.A Energy Resources Corp.
Mr. Ehsan has over 9 years of experience in the oil and gas and private equity sectors. He has led teams in the creation of many upstream oil and gas companies with a focus on acquisitions and divestitures. Over the last nine years Mr. Ehsan has been involved as a manager in mergers, acquisitions & divestitures, financing arrangements and investment with a specialty in oil and gas opportunities. Mr. Ehsans’ vast experience ranges from private to public & government based oil and gas deals; he has worked with Oil & Gas companies such as Marun Oil & Gas Production, West Texas Investment Corp and Renewable Energy Companies such as Excelsior. Jerome Hass, Partner, Lightwater Partners Ltd.
Jerome joined Lightwater as a Portfolio Manager in 2007 and has over 20 years experience in the financial industry. Previously, he worked as a Portfolio Manager at Epic Capital Mgmt in Toronto and Montrusco Bolton Investments in Montreal. Mr. Hass also worked as a Portfolio Manager in London, England for Canada Life Assurance Company. He started on the buy-side at Scottish Amicable Investment Managers in Scotland. Mr. Hass also worked as a sell-side Analyst with HSBC Investment Bank in Singapore and Malaysia. He began his career as an Economist with the Ministry of Finance. Peter Harris, Partner, Assurance, PwC
Peter is an assurance partner with PwC Calgary, in the Financial Services Group. He has more than 12 years of experience serving financial services and energy clients.
Peter’s experience in the asset management arena has seen him provide services to both private boutique companies and public entities, including investment managers, mutual funds, private equity funds, brokers, real estate funds and pension funds. Peter has also worked with clients who report under US GAAP, IFRS and Canadian GAAP.
Peter spent five years with PwC in the Cayman Islands, where his clients were hedge funds and private equity companies in several jurisdictions around the world. Tim Pickering, President, Lead Portfolio Manager, CIO, Auspice Capital Advisors
Tim Pickering is Founder, President and CIO of Auspice. Tim leads strategic decision making and the vision for Auspice’s diverse suite rules-based quantitative investment strategies. Fred Pye, Vice President & Partner, Landry Investment Management
Fred began his career in the early 1980’s working on the floor of the Montreal Stock Exchange and followed by responsibility for managing the Currency, Precious Metals and Brokerage Operations of Guardian Trust Company. During the launch of the free-trade era, he worked on various institutional desks promoting Canadian Investment ideas to U.S. Institutions. In 1989, he joined Fidelity Investments Canada and was an integral part of a dynamic team that attracted over $7.5 Billion in assets in 5 years. At Fidelity, Fred was exposed to some of the earliest techniques in quantitative management. In 1998, Fred designed and founded Argentum Management and Research, an asset management firm dedicated to providing a full line of quantitative investment management products. Argentum was sold in 2001. Fred is currently a Shareholder and Partner at Landry Investment Management.
Fred has an Honours Degree in Economics and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Concordia University. He sits on the Board of the Anglican Funds, West Island Youth Services and Concordia University Champions Club.

Siddharth Rajeev, Vice-President, Head of Research, Fundamental Research Corp.
At Fundamental Research Corp, Sid heads the research department which has covered over 300 small and micro cap companies and 150 exempt market/private issues from a broad array of industries including Energy, Mining, Real Estate and Technology. As President and CEO of InstarAGF Asset Management, Mr. Smith brings more than 20 years of unparalleled experience in the investment, operation, acquisition, and financing of public and private infrastructure, real estate, power, and utility businesses. Prior to founding InstarAGF, Gregory was Managing Partner and head of Brookfield Financial’s Global Infrastructure Advisory Group. Gregory was also the President of Macquarie Capital Funds Canada Ltd. where he was responsible for the establishment, growth and operations of Macquarie's unlisted and listed funds business in Canada along with the active management of Macquarie's Canadian assets owned by off-shore funds. Mark Webster, Vice President, Western Canada, BMO ETFs
Mark is the BMO ETF team's representative for Western Canada. With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Mark has covered many diverse forms of financial risk. He began his career as a professional indemnity broker, becoming a vice president at Minet International Professional Indemnity Ltd. (now part of AON), conducting risk analysis for the Big 8 global accounting firms, as well as some of the top U.S. law firms. He is responsible for overseeing the proliferation of ETFs throughout Canada's vast western region and providing support to portfolio managers from the Pacific (Duncan B.C.), to the Lakehead (Thunder Bay, Ontario). He has worked as a retail investment advisor with RBC DS; in the mutual fund industry with First Trust Portfolios; and has held several other positions in the pension industry. He brings with him a Master’s degree in Russian History from McGill University and several CSI accreditations.

Barry Whelan, Chief Operating Officer/Director, Energy Resources Corporation
Barry Whelan has more than 40 years' experience as a geologist, Initially with Gulf Oil in International Operations, then he has worked with such companies as KOS Energy Ltd., Next Millennium Commercial Corp., Opal Energy Ltd., Copper Creek Ventures Ltd., Avro Energy, Polar Resources Ltd., ProAm Exploration Corporation, Voyageur Oil and Gas Corp., Bighorn Petroleum to name a few. Mr. Whelan has represented a diverse array of energy market participants including oil, gas and other resources based companies with clients ranging from global energy concerns to start-up companies.
As a Geological Consultant, Mr. Whelan has been active in natural resource and industrial development companies with natural resource holdings in oil, gas and minerals, worldwide. Responsibilities include: economic evaluations of properties; research and development of projects which have economic potential; evaluation of projects and their requirements for capital; presentations to management, financial institutions, and shareholders; economic analysis of resource properties and coordination of acquisition, development and production for resource properties; filing of V.S.E. reports, assessment reports and property evaluations for petroleum and mining companies on resource properties.
Mr. Whelan received his Bachelor of Arts, Geology, from University of Western Ontario in 1961, Bachelors of Science, Honours Geology, McMaster University, 1965. As the founder of i9, Christopher brings over a decade of experience in developing new business opportunities and managing multifaceted marketing campaigns. Christopher possesses a unique ability for articulating complex business models to stakeholders and target audiences of any business. Michael Wellwood, Senior Analyst, Skyscape Capital Inc.
Mike is the Senior Analyst at Skyscape Capital and focusses on structuring and capital raising for the Skyscape group of companies, a vertically integrated land developer operating in Western Canada. Prior to joining Skyscape, Mike conducted independent due diligence on Exempt Market products as well as providing private equity structuring services to new Issuers. He is very active in the Exempt Market community and was recently the Chairman of the National Exempt Market Association Due Diligence Committee. Mike is a Certified Private Equity Professional and was the founder of an Exempt Market Dealer in Alberta. His previous background as an entrepreneur in the technology sector allows him to analyze and model businesses using a systems engineering approach rather than traditional subjective approaches. This led him to the alternative investing arena where he worked with various firms on raising capital in the exempt market.
