Matthew Barnes joined Centurion REIT in June 2014 as Associate Director, Sales. He has over 12 years of experience in the financial services industry and was most recently Regional Sales Manager at First Trust Portfolios Canada. Matthew also held sales and client relationship roles at Renaissance Investments where he was the Business Development Manager for Alberta North and prior to that was an equity trader at the Telus Pension Fund in Edmonton. Longtime business commentator Pat Bolland has been a business thought leader north and south of the border. Pat worked his way up in the investment industry from floor clerk on the Toronto Stock Exchange to VP with a top tier firm before moving into broadcasting. Pat’s been business editor at four major networks, currently Sun New Network on ‘AM Agenda’. He has parlayed his TV hosting skills into media training, corporate PR as well as hosting, moderating and webcasting for events and conferences. Not to mention a lot of lacrosse coaching. Bobby is a Vice President at State Street Global Advisors, Ltd. and Head of SPDR ETF Business Development for Canada. Bobby focuses on the distribution of SPDR ETFs to institutional investors throughout Canada including pension plans, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, investment consultants, asset managers and banks.
Prior to this role, Bobby spent over 3 years at First Trust Portfolios Canada as Senior Vice President and Head of Sales responsible for overall sales and distribution. Bobby also spent 10 years at Blackrock Asset Management most recently as Director & Vice President, Head of National Accounts at Blackrock Asset Management responsible for asset managers and brokerage senior executive relationships. Bobby was instrumental in the success of the iShares, Exchange Traded Funds business in Canada being responsible for sales and business development across Canada. Bobby also held sales and relationship management roles at Fidelity Investments and National Bank of Canada.

Howard English, Director, CAF Canada
Howard English joined CAF Canada as its Director in 2015, with 25 years of experience as a recognized expert in non-profit governance, communications, donor relations and volunteer development. Howard’s work has benefited countless families.
Howard, a recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for community service, has distinguished himself as the Senior Vice President of the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs – the Canadian Jewish community’s largest non-profit advocacy organization, and as Vice President of Corporate Communications at UJA Federation of Greater Toronto. He played an integral role in United Jewish Appeal’s fundraising efforts by directing the marketing for 10 successive annual campaigns featuring fundraising increases.
His understanding of CRA regulations regarding charities, his insights into donor motivations for charitable giving, his commitment to strong volunteer governance structures for Canadian charities and his communications skills have helped CAF Canada to grow dramatically since its inception nearly three years ago.

Peter Figura, Director, Sales, RISE Properties Trust
Peter has over 20 years of Financial Services industry experience. His management focus is the development and implementation of comprehensive wholesaling programs with an emphasis on their alignment with company business goals. Working with executive management groups, Peter has helped in the design, implementation and approval of several financial products that were brought to the market. Peter’s investment career include roles of financial advisor with major Canadian full service investment dealers, senior manager of investment department with one of the major Ontario Credit Unions, Director of Investment Marketing with one of the independent financial advisory organizations, and VP Business Development with an independent investment services organization. Deborah Frame is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Frame Global Asset Management.
The firm was launched in 2015, providing non-discretionary investment advisory services to registered Portfolio Managers in Canada and registered Investment Advisors in the United States, using tactical asset allocation to construct globally diversified portfolios using broad market Exchange Traded Funds. The firm is wholly owned by employees.
Deborah has held executive positions over the past 30 years at several major Canadian life insurance and investment firms and has sat as a board member of both public and private companies. She was Chief Investment Officer at Empire Life prior to moving to Cougar Global Investments, a Global Tactical ETF Portfolio Strategist in 2009, where she was Vice President Investments and Chief Compliance Officer.
She holds an MBA from York University with a concentration in Finance and an undergraduate degree in Economics and Business from the University of Guelph. She is a registered Portfolio Manager - Advising Representative with the Ontario Securities Commission and a CFA Charterholder.
Deborah is the Co-Head of the Canadian Chapter of Women in ETFs. Founded in January 2014, Women in ETFs encourages and supports women in the ETF industry in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia Pacific. The organization’s objectives are to create opportunities for professional advancement by expanding connections among women in the ETF industry, offering guidance for the current and next generation of women in ETFs and provide forums for education and idea sharing across the industry and beyond.

Hugh Innes, Managing Director, Logan Wealth Management
Hugh has worked in the fields of investment consulting and investment management for forty years. In the 1970’s he consulted to major pension funds while at Wood Gundy Inc. In the 1980’s he was a partner at Ruggles & Crysdale Inc., an investment management firm that pioneered the use of option strategies in institutional portfolio management in Canada in both equities and fixed income. In the 1990’s he headed up KPMG’s Investment Advisory Services Toronto office which catered to wealthy investors and family offices. Before coming to Logan Wealth Management in 2011, he was a partner at York Investment Strategies, the leading consultant in Canada to institutional funds and family offices on global hedge funds.
Hugh’s considerable experience in many facets of the investment management business makes him well suited for his roles in corporate strategy, marketing and client relations.
Hugh chaired the Aboriginal Investment Trust Conference (2008 – 2012) and is a past member of the Advisory Board for the Niagara Institutional Dialogue (2011 – 2014). He is a past member of the Board of Trustees of the Upper Canada College Foundation and the University of Trinity College, at which he chaired their respective Investment Committees. Presently, he sits on the Board of the Rekai Centres in Toronto and is Chair of the Rekai Charitable Foundation.

Alex Jurshevski, Founder, Recovery Partners
Alex is the founder of Recovery Partners and has more than 25 years of experience in investment management, M&A and advisory work. Alex was formerly a Managing Director of Bankers Trust and prior to that he was with Nomura's Investment Banking Division, a member of the European Management Committee at NIplc and Chair of the Emerging Markets Trading Committee. In the early 90's Alex was recruited to turn around the portfolio management operations for the government of New Zealand. He was a member of the Advisory Panel on Government Debt Management and the World Bank's Government Borrowers Forum. He has been involved in over USD 40 billion of financial restructurings and over USD 20 Billion of primary transactions. Mr. Jurshevski is a past board member of the Turnaround Management Association and a director of a publicly traded (TSX) high-yield bond fund. He also does pro bono work for several charities. His language skills include English, French, and German.

David Kirzinger, Principal, RISE Properties Trust
Dave Kirzinger has a distinguished career in real estate acquisitions, development, asset and property management focused on mixed-use, multi-family rental and condominium projects.
Dave began his career with two large and well-respected national/international firms, Trammell Crow Residential and Intrawest, where he learned to balance market nuances and changes with the rigorous demands of publicly traded companies. He was then recruited to run the US investment group of Belkorp Industries, Balaclava Holdings.
Understanding his ability to create value quickly, AvalonBay entered the Seattle market in 1997 and brought Dave on board to lead their regional office. In the next four years, the firm acquired, developed and redeveloped 3,000 units in the Seattle area. With this success, AvalonBay expanded Dave’s responsibilities to include the asset management of an additional 5,000 homes in California.
After his tenure with AvalonBay, Dave became the operating partner with MOSAIC Homes, a leading Vancouver, BC company. Dave led the US division and began his work with two new townhome developments in Redmond, totaling 145 units. He and the firm went on to purchase 1,100 apartments in 9 properties across the Puget Sound. Six of these properties were converted to condominiums while three were held as apartments. Under Dave’s leadership, MOSAIC was the first to see a market ripe for conversions, and to also see the declining sales environment, and exit the market.

Nick Kyprianou, President & CEO, RiverRock Mortgage Investment Corporation
Nick is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in the mortgage industry. Prior to founding RiverRock in 2014, Nick was the CEO at Equity Financial Trust. Before joining Equity Financial, Nick was the President and also a director at Home Trust Company for over 18 years, where he was instrumental in the company’s national expansion, mortgage growth and operations. Nick obtained his degree from McMaster University in 1986, has completed the Executive Program at the Queen’s School of Business as well as the Institute of Corporate Directors Program at the Joseph L. Rotman School of Business.

Mo Lidsky, Partner & Senior Managing Director, Prime Quadrant

Mo is a Partner and Senior Managing Director at Prime Quadrant. Prior to Prime Quadrant, Mo was the co-founder and owner of TMX Inc., a group of automobile restoration companies in Northeast Ohio, co-founder of CharityBids LLC, an online auction platform serving the non-profit sector, and founding partner of Apex Global Capital, a regional micro-finance company in the Caribbean.

Mo also spent five years as the national director and chief executive officer of Yeshiva University (Canada) and Chairman of the THJ Foundation. He continues to sit on the boards of several non-profit organizations, including CJPAC, Haifa University, Jerusalem College for Technology, Hebrew University, and CAF Canada. He also serves as an Investment Policy Advisor for Canada Gives Foundation and the Chair of the Prime Quadrant Foundation.

Mo is co-author of The Philanthropic Mind, profiling Canada’s most generous philanthropists, In Search of the Prime Quadrant: The Quest for Better Investment Decisions, and author of Partners in Preservation: How to Know Your Advisor Is Truly Protecting Your Wealth.

Dennis E. MacPherson, Senior Vice President, SGGG Fund Services Inc.
Mr. Dennis MacPherson has diverse experience in investment fund operations. He began his career with TD Bank Financial Group supporting Greenline Investor Services (now TD Waterhouse Canada). Later, the TD third-party fund business was purchased by AGF Management Ltd., and Mr. MacPherson accepted the role of Director, Dealer Relations for Unisen Inc. (now owned by Citigroup).
Then, Mr. MacPherson returned to TD Bank to run the Client Transfer Services area, for all products and business lines of the Wealth Management Division. He then accepted a senior management role in Investment Fund Operations, where he was responsible for transaction processing for all TD brokerage and retail distribution channels, and all TD Mutual Funds products.
Mr. MacPherson was then recruited by Felcom Data Services Inc. as the Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, responsible for all day-to-day operations, budgeting, and staffing. There, he developed and grew the business to the point where it was targeted and acquired by CIBC Mellon. After ensuring an orderly transition of all Clients, staff and business processes, Mr. MacPherson made the decision to assume his current role at SGGG Fund Services.
Mr. MacPherson has been an industry leader in process improvement change as a Member or Chair of several Committees and Working Groups, and is currently an active Member of the FundSERV Standards Steering Committee (SSC). He has also participated in several high-profile speaking engagements, including: the annual IFIC (Investment Funds Institute of Canada) Conference, CCMA (Canadian Capital Markets Association) Information Sessions on Straight-Through Processing (STP), the IFIC Dealer Operations Forum, an "expert panel" discussion on Pooled Fund hosted by PMAC (Portfolio Managers Association of Canada), an operations panel at the annual WAISC summit, and most recently hosted a regulatory roundtable for HFM.

F.L. (Ted) Morton, Senior Fellow, School of Public Policy, University of Calgary, Former Alberta Minister of Energy and Minister of Finance
Frederick (Ted) Morton was the Former Minister of Energy and Minister of Finance for Government of Alberta, 2010-12; Minister of Sustainable Resources Development, 2006-10 and Cabinet Minister/Treasury Board, 2006-12. He currently teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on Alberta Energy Politics at University of Calgary and School of Public Policy. Ted is a regular OpEd contributor to the National Post, Globe and Mail, and Calgary Herald on energy-related topics. He also speaks regularly on BNN and local Alberta television and radio. Ted is the Director of a junior oil and gas company--Yangarra Resources as well as a Board Member, Alberta Land Institute, University of Alberta and Board of Governors of the Council of Canadian Academies from 2013-2016. Over the past two years he has consulted with dozens of clients in Toronto, New York, Chicago, Houston and Boston on the Canadian energy sector and policy-risks posed by new governments in Ottawa, Edmonton and now Washington, D.C. Education: B.A. Colorado College (Phi Beta Kappa) and M.A. and Ph.D. (Political Economy) University of Toronto. Ted has been a Professor at the University of Calgary since 1981 and is a visiting professor at universities in the United States, France, Australia and Quebec.

Amar Nijjar, Founder, R2
Amar is the Founder of R2. He is responsible for strategic direction, business development, operations, and sits on R2 Board of Directors and Investment Committee. Amar has funded over $10 billion and underwritten over $30 billion of real estate during his career. Up until recently Amar was an Executive Vice President at JLL (formerly Jones Lang LaSalle), where he headed the Debt Capital Markets group. Amar has an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering and holds an MBA from York University's Schulich School of Business. In 2014, he founded www.educate-kids.org; a charity that supports under privileged children in Developing countries. He also sits on the board of Commercial Real Estate Lenders Association (www.crela.ca).

Trish Nixon, Chief Impact Investing Officer, CoPower
Trish leads product development, fundraising and investor relations for CoPower, Canada's first clean energy investment platform. Trish has focused her career on accelerating impact investing in private markets. In her prior roles at MaRS Discovery District, she provided advisory services to investors and intermediaries, founded a social venture accelerator and led venture services for the SVX investment platform. She also spearheaded the development of the MaRS/Virgin Unite Catalyst Fund.
Trish is the 2016 Recipient of the Edward Newton Award for Social Innovation and co-recipient of the 2017 Clean50 Award for Environmental Entrepreneurship. Trish holds a Masters of International Relations from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland.

Andrey Omelchak, President, CEO & Chief Investment Officer, LionGuard Capital Management Inc.
Andrey is an experienced investment and business professional. Prior to founding LionGuard Capital Management Inc. in April 2014, Andrey worked as a Portfolio Manager, Canadian Equities, at a Montreal-based buy-side investment management company. Between October 2010 and March 2014, Andrey co-managed the Canadian Small Capitalization Equity Fund and other mandates, with combined assets under management of approximately C$1.35 billion. Prior to that, Andrey worked in the Canadian equities sell-side research department at a Canadian-based broker-dealer and in research, trading and risk management roles at a Montreal-based investment fund. Mr. Omelchak graduated with distinction from Concordia University, in Montreal, where he completed both his B.Comm. and M.Sc. degrees. He also obtained CFA, FRM and CIM designations. Jaime Purvis, Executive Vice President, National Accounts, Horizons ETFs Management (Canada)
As Executive Vice President at Horizons ETFs Management (Canada) Inc., Jaime manages the national accounts relationships for Horizons ETFs with Canadian investment dealers, as well as managing relationships with the dealer managed asset and discretionary management programs. Jaime is also responsible for the self-directed investing channel and delivering key concepts and product knowledge to senior management, operations, and investors.

Kim Shannon, President and Co-CIO, Sionna Investment Managers
Kim founded Sionna in 2002 and has more than 30 years of industry experience. She was previously CIO and senior vice president at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers Canada. Kim is a past president of the CFA Society Toronto and currently a member of the C.D. Howe Institute’s National Council, the CFA Institute Board of Regents (previously served as its chair) and on the board of the Brandes Institute. Kim serves as a board member with the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance, the Women’s College Hospital Investment Committee and the United Corporation (a listed closed-end fund). She was awarded Morningstar Fund Manager of the Year (2005), the RBC Canadian Woman Entrepreneur Award, the Women’s Executive Network’s Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award (2007), continuously listed as one of Profit Magazine’s Top 100 Female Entrepreneurs over the last several years and one recipient of the 2015 Rotman Women in Management Association Top 10 Awards (Entrepreneur Category).

David Shore, Director - Canada, OurCrowd
David is responsible for expanding OurCrowd’s presence in Canada: building the investor community, bringing new companies onto the OurCrowd platform and leveraging the investor network on behalf of our portfolio companies. David has more than 20 years of experience in analyzing, investing in and operating technology companies. As the Managing Director of Terracap Ventures, David developed the firm's overall corporate strategy, reviewed more than 400 deals and led investments in five new companies and seven follow-on rounds. Prior to joining Terracap, David was a top-ranked technology analyst for Canadian investment banks such as Mackie Research Capital, CIBC, Desjardins and First Marathon, providing insightful research into technology companies. His operational experience includes roles as CFO at several start-ups including Cavet and Beam Networks. David has served as a Board Director of both public and private companies including ESI Entertainment Systems Inc. (CNSX:ESY), Sarda Technologies and Helix Medical Systems. He is also directly involved in fostering a strong start-up community in Canada, serving on the Advisory Board of the Canadian Innovation Exchange and as an advisor for The Next 36. Doug Steiner, CEO & Founder, Evree Corp.
Doug Steiner is a recognized leader in the field of financial services infrastructure and the design and use of new economic and business models pertaining to capital market efficiencies.
He founded the Equity Derivatives group at RBC Capital in 1986. He designed and deployed the first fully electronic securities trading and options market-making platform in North America in 1989.
In 1992, he founded VERSUS Technologies Inc., a direct market access brokerage firm. In 1996 VERSUS licensed the rights to the E*TRADE service mark and technology for Canada. VERSUS/ E*TRADE Canada went public in 1999, and was sold to E*TRADE Group in 2000.
In 2002 Doug started the first private equity fund in Canada dedicated to innovative financial services technology. The fund reorganized into an operating company, Perimeter Financial in 2005. Perimeter developed and operated transparent securities trading and investment management infrastructure for institutional and retail clients. The firm was sold to CI Financial in April 2009.
In 2010 Doug co-founded BEworks Inc. a Toronto and Durham NC-based behavioural economics consulting firm that focuses on consumer behaviour in financial decision making. The firm serves clients in retail and wholesale Banking, Internet Software and Services, Government, Advertising, Technology, Insurance, Utilities, Loyalty Programmes, Media, Hospitality and Consumer Products. BEworks was sold to Japanese conglomerate Hakuhodo/kyu in January 2017.
In 2016, Doug co-founded Evree Corp. a B2B financial technology platform that is deploying a mobile-based financial advice platform that aids consumers to develop persistently smart habits with financial decisions. The platform generates automated best-in-class product and service fulfillment of credit, insurance, savings and investments.
Since 2004, Doug has also been a Features writer, columnist and contributor in Globe and Mail’s Report on Business Magazine. He comments on investment industry trends, financial technology, and investor psychologies.
He is a past member of the Chairman’s Advisory Board for the Ontario Securities Commission, the Deans Advisory Board for University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, and Thomson Reuters Customer Advisory Board. He is currently an independent Director of Canadian Payments Association.

Mr. Thomson has been a Director and the President and Chief Executive Officer of PACE Securities Corp., a securities dealer registered with the Ontario Securities Commission since June 26th 2013 as an investment dealer and investment fund manager, and of each of Pace General Partner Limited and Pace Insurance Brokers Ltd.. Mr. Thomson has a broad background of business management and financing experience. He has been in the securities industry since 1997 and spent most of his career as a market maker and proprietary trader of derivative instruments. Mr. Thomson studied at Bishop’s University where he received his BA degree in Political Studies and Economics and then at the Illinois Institute of Technology where he received his MSc. degree in Financial Markets & Trading, a program focused on the valuation and management of debt and derivative products. He later received a MBA from University College Dublin, Smurfit School of Business. He has also completed the ISMA International Fixed Income & Derivatives Certificate and numerous courses from the Canadian Securities Institute and New York Institute of Finance.

Henry Tse obtained his MBA degree from McMaster University in 1989, and is also qualified as a Chartered Accountant, Certified Financial Planner, and Accredited Mortgage Professional.
